Your first 30 days in a trading courses and mentorship

By Karel Moreau, editor of tradingmentorreviews ·

Most people who regret a trading courses and mentorship subscription made the same three mistakes: they bought the best-marketed option, they judged it in a week, and they never decided in advance what would count as it working. Here is a better first month.

Before you pay

Write down, in one sentence, what you want this to do for you. Then check the listing actually promises that — not something adjacent. Check the refund terms. Check the review count rather than the star rating. If the listing is vague about what you receive, ask the seller and keep the reply.

Start at or below the median

The median here is $100 a month, and price does not predict quality in this category. Starting mid-range costs less to be wrong about and teaches you what format suits you. Reasonable starting points with a real review record: Dodgy's Dungeon ($100.00 / month); Crystal Academy ($65.00 / month); Market Pulse ($99.00 / month).

Week one: observe, do not act

Read everything and follow nothing with money. You are assessing whether the explanations make sense to you, whether questions get answered, and whether the person running it is honest when things go badly. That last one only becomes visible on a bad day, so wait for one.

Weeks two and three: paper-test

Track what you would have done, without staking anything. Write down entries, exits and reasoning. If the community is any good, the reasoning improves — and reasoning is the thing you are actually buying. Anyone can post a call; very few can explain one.

Week four: decide deliberately

Compare what happened against the sentence you wrote before paying. If it has not moved, cancel. Sunk cost is the most expensive feeling in this category. Renewal should be a decision you make, not one that happens to you because you forgot.

What to actually track

Keep one note with four columns: date, what was posted, what you would have done, and what you learned. Four weeks of that is worth more than any testimonial, because it measures the only thing that matters — whether your own decisions got better. If the note is empty by week three, you have your answer.

How to cancel without losing money

Cancellation runs through Whop, not the seller, and it is worth finding the button before you need it. Cancel at least a day before the renewal date rather than on it. If the seller states all sales are final, that applies to the payment already taken, not to stopping the next one. Nobody can require you to keep paying.

When to add a second subscription

Only when the first one is clearly working and you have identified something specific it does not cover. Running three feeds at once is the most reliable way to learn nothing from any of them — the signals conflict, you follow whichever agreed with you, and you end up paying to have your own instincts confirmed.

Things that should end it early

Pressure to upgrade within days. Results posted without timestamps. Losses that quietly disappear from the channel. Anyone telling you to borrow, or to size up to recover. Those are not quality signals, they are exit signals.

Trading carries risk of loss. Nothing here is financial advice, and past results of any group or educator do not predict your own.

When you are ready to compare properly, our trading courses and mentorships rankings list every community with price, refund terms and risk flags side by side.
